Updated October 15, 2026 After you pay, Raff creates the server and installs the stack on it. The server’s page under Keep shows each step as it runs. You can close the page at any time: the install keeps going.

Before you start

Steps

1

Open the install

Checkout takes you to the server’s page. Later, click Keep in the sidebar and click the stack’s name, or Open, in the list. The list shows each stack’s Status and the step it is on.
2

Watch the steps

The page shows a progress bar (“3 of 11 steps”, for example) and, on the Overview tab, every step with its result. While the server is being created, the bar shows the Windows licence setup instead, for example “Setting up the Windows licence: activating Windows”.Some steps restart the server. The step then ends with “Restarting the server …; setup continues after the restart.” and the install carries on by itself.

Get the logins when it is installed

When the status is Installed, a box at the top says “Raff Keep created logins for this server.” Click Show the logins and save them. See Get your logins and passwords.

Statuses

The steps

Every step’s result is kept in the Activity tab. MetaTrader: Remote Desktop access and always-on tuning; creating the trader login; creating your admin login; installing MetaTrader; starting every terminal when the trader login signs in; auto sign-in after a restart; the update policy, closing the server’s setup data to the trader login and turning SSH passwords off; installing Raff Guardian; starting the terminals (one restart, when auto start is on); keeping the built-in Administrator off Remote Desktop; and a final check that every terminal runs. ASP.NET: Remote Desktop access, then IIS; creating your admin login; the .NET 10 hosting bundle; Web Deploy; setting up the sites; free certificates; SQL Server Express (when chosen); the firewall, the update policy and turning SSH passwords off; installing Raff Guardian; keeping the built-in Administrator off Remote Desktop; and a final check of the server. With Install only, the Raff Guardian step reports “Install only: Raff Guardian is not installed”.

When it takes longer

Raff watches every install. When the server stops reporting, or the install runs longer than it should, the status line says “Taking longer than usual. Raff has been told.” The install keeps going, and the line goes once it finishes. Do not restart or sign in to the server while it installs. If you sign in and a step then fails, Raff keeps the server for a person to check instead of removing it. See Failed installs.
