Before you start
- Raff Guardian on the server.
- Permission to manage the server (
vm.manage). Other members see the lists without buttons.
See what is blocked
Open the server under Virtual Machines, click Guardian, then Security.- The band at the top says whether blocking works, for example Protected: blocking is working, with Blocked now, Failed sign-ins, last 15 min and Last report.
- Blocked addresses lists each block and why, for example “Blocked on the server on 26 Sept, 14:43 after 8 failed sign-ins. Raff Guardian lifts it on 3 Oct.”
- Wrong passwords, last 24 hours charts the failed Remote Desktop sign-ins hour by hour, and names the busiest address.

Unblock an address
- In Blocked addresses, click Unblock on the address.
- In Unblock followed by the address, click Unblock, or Keep blocked.
Block an attacking address yourself
When an address attacks Remote Desktop, the Overview can list a finding such as Remote Desktop attack from 203.0.113.7 with Block now. Click it to block the address. A block you add stays until you unblock it. Raff Guardian blocks IPv4 addresses only for now.Change when it blocks
- Click Settings. In the Raff Guardian group, the row Block an attacker after shows the number of wrong passwords, for example “8 tries”.
- Click Change, set a number from 5 to 200, and click Save.
Verify
The address leaves Blocked addresses (or appears there) within a minute or two, and Activity, category Security, records the change.Next steps
