Updated October 15, 2026 Raff Guardian can close Remote Desktop to everyone except the addresses you choose. It changes the Windows Firewall rules for Remote Desktop on the server, and the browser console in Raff always keeps working.

Before you start

  • Raff Guardian on the server, in Raff manages everything or Ask me before changes. On Watch only the change is refused.
  • Permission to manage the server (vm.manage).
  • Your own public IPv4 address or range, if you want a list.

Choose who may connect

Bots try passwords on open Remote Desktop all day. Allowing only your addresses keeps them from reaching it at all.
1

Pick who may connect

In Security, on Who can reach Remote Desktop, choose:
  • Any address: Remote Desktop is open to every address.
  • Only my address: only the IPv4 address your browser uses now.
  • A list of addresses: IPv4 addresses or ranges, comma separated, for example 203.0.113.7, 198.51.100.0/24. Up to 500 entries.

Apply

Confirm with Apply. Raff Guardian changes the Windows Firewall rules for Remote Desktop on the server. “Allowed now” shows the result.
The browser console in Raff always works, whatever you choose. This change needs Raff manages everything or Ask me before changes; it is refused on Watch only. If your address changes, set it again here or use the browser console.
