Updated October 11, 2026 Connecting a VPC puts a private endpoint for the database inside your VPC, with the stable hostname <database_id>.db.raffusercloud.com. Your VMs on that VPC connect to it directly, with no public address and no egress charges.

Before you start

  • A running database.
  • A VPC with the VMs that should reach the database. See VPC.

Steps

1

Open Access

Open the database and go to the Access tab.
2

Connect the VPC

In Private networking, choose the VPC in Select a VPC… and click Connect VPC. It can take a few minutes the first time, while the VPC’s router starts.
3

Connect from a VM

Go to Connect, choose Your VPC, and copy the address. From a VM on the VPC:
You can also pick a VPC when you create the database.

Disconnect

In Private networking, click Disconnect and confirm. The data is untouched and public access stays as it was. Connecting a VPC again gives the endpoint a new private IP; the hostname stays the same.
