Updated October 11, 2026 Deleting a database removes it, its data and its standbys at once, and stops billing. Backups are kept for 14 days after the delete, then removed for good.

Before you start

  • Take a final backup or export what you need. After 14 days nothing can be recovered.
  • Update the apps that use the database.

Steps

1

Open Settings

Open the database, go to Settings and scroll to Delete database.
2

Confirm

Click Delete database, type the database’s name exactly, and click Delete database again.
You can also delete several databases at once: select them in the Databases list and click Delete.

What happens

  • The database, its data and its addresses are removed at once. Billing stops now.
  • Monthly databases: the unused part of the month is credited to your account balance.
  • Backups are kept for 14 days. Within that window, contact support to restore one into a new database.
  • The name can be used again at once. The public port is not reused by another database for 7 days.
