Updated October 11, 2026 Add Raff to Claude Code and it can create a database for the project you are working on, put the connection string in your .env, write the migrations and check the result, without leaving the terminal.

Before you start

Steps

1

Add the server

By default the server is added for you in the current project. Add --scope user to have it in every project, or --scope project to share it with your team through the project’s .mcp.json.
2

Sign in with Raff

Start Claude Code, run /mcp, select raff and choose to authenticate. A Raff page opens in your browser: sign in, pick the account and click Allow access. Claude Code shows the server as connected and refreshes the sign-in on its own. From the shell, claude mcp login raff does the same.
3

Ask Claude Code

“Create a free Postgres database on Raff for this project and put the connection string in .env as DATABASE_URL.”

Use an API key instead

On a server or in CI, where no browser can open, pass a Raff API key as a header:
Keep the key out of shared files: with --scope project the header would be written to .mcp.json.

Verify

raff is listed as connected. In Claude Code, “list my Raff databases” answers with your databases.
